Ok I have been with 1and1 for about 6 years. The last two I have had horrible service. Something changed and I was not able to connect to my site. Over the last few months and approx 30 hours on phone time with them. They were unable to fix the problem. They said they would call me between 9-5 either Saturday or Sunday. They did not call. So I cancelled it today. I am looking for a place to host my website. I have been using Net Object Fusion 11.

So who do you have and do you like them.

What do you use for website building?

I had just a basic website with videos of previous years and a How to section. From October thru Jan i do a blog (for lack of better word) to keep everyone up too date on the display. Then it basically goes stale till the following October. I was gonna get rid of it all together and just use Facebook but a lot of people that come by say they go to the website and not FB.

I am General Contracto by trade, I am not a computer genius. So the more basic the better for me. I have built my site thru Net Objects Fusion. I can run that program with no problem.

I have been more than pleased with StableHost. Easy and cheap. Use promo code DOY94S9TB7 for recurring 50% off yearly hosting price for life (i.e. you get 50% every year for as long as you renew yearly).  I used this type of promotion years ago when I first started with them (after switching from 1&1) and I have automatically received the discount every year since.  Their support is excellent. Site is very reliable (never have had any unannounced downtime, and they communicate very well if it is going to be down for maintenance -- only about 15 minutes yearly at 1AM).

For years I have run my own server at home, however my server died in December and I needed restoration before I would have time to get my server replaced.  At that same time, Don from Synchronized Christmas (see post #2 above) was looking for some beta testers for a web hosting service.  I became his first beta tester.  No big surprise, there were a couple issues getting it all set up - but that's why he wanted someone to beta test it.  After a few days, all the bugs were worked out and it has worked perfectly ever since.  And he's giving a discounted rate for LOR forum users.  Check him out...

Absolutely LOVE GoDaddy.com.

They are cheap and fast. If you need them, their customer service is quick to answer.

And Bob Parsons is a former Marine... We stick together.

I've got stuff everywhere. Depending on what I'm doing will determine where it goes.

You could always host your stuff with us, though. SyncHostingServices.com

If you want a demo account, to test things out, etc, let me know. Will set you up with one tonight.

So does your SyncHostingServices company actually do the hosting (on your servers) or are you just the middle man selling the product of another company?  If the latter, what company is actually hosting the sites?

I have my own servers and a few different companies I use as well.

Do you need a website hosted? Maybe your own virtual machine? Geo redundant data centers? Maybe a HIPAA compliant solution?

Depending on what you need will determine where you are hosted within the resources I have available.

No, I'm not going to list the companies here.

I am impressed that you receive ongoing HIPAA compliance and security training in order for your company to be able to offer that type of service. HIPAA audits are a pain!

Between HIPAA, Dept of Health regs, licensing, infectious disease control, CEUs, equipment calibration, credit card security, etc., etc. it's getting easier and easier every day to see myself retired.
