Max-Paul
Yet trust not! Verify I say onto ye. Sorry could not help myself. Seriously I found that the information is not fool proof. Best deal is to wait till late fall early winter and listen to the radio between 6 and 10 PM. Realize that there is some skip and some of the stations will be scratchy at best.
NEWTOUR
Bump to Max, I had to switch the station I was using this year. It work for Halloween, but by Christmas it was a Spanish station and Radio-Locator still had it listed as free/open. Always good to check and recheck. dgrant
I agree. I used that and located a frequency but to be sure, I drove the neighborhood multiple times at different hours of the night to insure that my selected frequency was clear. I also checked with the one other person in this area, to insure I wasn't on his frequency as well. Now there's a 3rd person here and he's on yet another, so we're all good for the time being. Things change, so just because its good this year, doesn't mean it will be next year....so yee be forewarned of stormy skies ahead!
George Simmons
Consider that locator site as a beginning point - not an end. It is notoriously inaccurate and doesn't seem to be updated very often, if at all. It was inaccurate for my area 8 years ago and is STILL inaccurate today. I certainly wouldn't want to wager thousands of dollars in fines on the results it returns.

This is a fairly big town (40k+) but the nearest other towns (small - 3k) are twenty miles in any direction. The only other "big" towns (Omaha, Lincoln, and North Platte) are at least 100 miles or more away. Will use all the suggestions here, seems 90.3 should be safe BUT closer to Halloween/Christmas I will double and triple check it.
Max-Paul
To all reading this thread. Suggestion. When making your tune to sign. Make it so that it is easy to change the numbers if you have to.

caniac
the mischievous part of me wants to go to someone else's show with a transmitter and set it to their frequency. Then start broadcasting rap, would be funny at least once until they bring out their shotguns.
