Summer Sale Delivery

Recommended Posts

I have seen a few posts that mention extremely long delivery time after the summer sale. I am planning my show for 2015 and plan on buying my equipment during the sale and was wondering if it would be delivered in time.

I appreciate any info.

During the summer sale, Light-O-Rama has a "TryforFree" option with regards to shipping. If you go that route you order will take longer than other orders. Depending on what you order, it could take longer than some care to wait for delivery. If you don't go the TryforFree route, then your order should ship relatively soon after you order.

If asked, Don will tell you I am one that has been vocal and made sure people knew that the delay for your shipment if you go the "Try for free" route you might be waiting for some time. Might even be after you would want to start setting up.

That being said, this past year was the exception to the rule. I can remember exactly, but I ordered a CBT16PC kit board. I think it only took a week to get mine and I even did the TFF route. Seems that LOR was on the ball or there was fewer orders. All I know is that I was totally surprised how soon I got the board/kit.

to add what don said.

People, like me, who purchased the last few remaining days of the sale and used "tryforfree" had a long wait time. If I recall correctly, "tyrforfree" will give you additional 2% savings and a chance to get your order for free but, it can take up to 10 weeks - my delivery took almost 9.  Still plenty of time for Christmas.

2014 was my first display so i didnt want to risk try for free for a couple more controllers so i did a regular order in the summer sale and received it in about a week.

You can also submit an order the "essentials" and also a "TryForFree" for things which are less time-critical.

For example, my order this year will likely be just for a couple of controllers and an ELL to have "on hand" as spare units. They wouldn't possibly be pressed into service until mid-November so long delivery is totally OK.
