BlackwolfK9
Anyone added lasers to their show and if so, what kind. Can they be controlled with LOR controller?
Max-Paul
I have read threads in the past that deal with using lasers in the show. First thing that comes up most times is the liability of the laser reflecting and shooting out at an angle that would cause a car driver, plane pilot or helicopter pilot to become blinded by a stray beam. Thread dies most times after that is brought up.
sax
I use a laser that holiday Coro sells. It is a low watt garden laser that is in the form of fireflies. Be sure to understand the rules on lasers. Low watt lasers are not as restrictive but do go to the faa site and read up on the rules. Knowledge is key when dealing with lasers.Sax
Roger Leon Forbes
I have some experience with lasers having owned a special effects company using lasers for several years. First Lasers are NOT necessary to produce a high impact display, they are at best a WOW toy. Lasers are great for graphics and some effects, beams are best viewed coming at you or going way, they do not show up great looking at them from side unless you are using a hazer or fog. I have used them and never really got the effect I wanted even thou I own the company. Of course there are rules when using the big lasers and that in its self can be a big pain and lots of paper work. Unless you just haven't to have them I would not waste the money use it to buy something that will enhance your display not be your display. I have been using dispersed beam lasers for 4 years and it is one of the most asked about props in the show. There are stray beams but the question is so what? They are not focused beams which retain a pinpoint for 1000s of yards. These are decorative lights and people love them. http://www.holidaycoro.com/Outdoor-Moving-Red-and-Green-Laser-p/830.htm

colonel
I've used lasers for a few years. I started with the cheap ones on Amazon and got about 2 years out of them. I have 2 of Holidaycoro's better ones and there is a big difference. I use against the house and in the trees. I have one stage that has a 600' treeline. The 2 HC lasers really show up well. They have a 2 hour duty cycle, so I just run on a timer and give them 15 minutes rest every 2 hours. The party disco balls for about $25 can be programmed in DMX and work well too. The cheap stuff needs some kind of weatherproofing whereas the HC ones do not except the adapter. Edited December 26, 2014 by colonel

Big Sanch Mafia
I too used the HC lasers. I used them for Halloween and Christmas. For Halloween i put a piece of tape over the green so just red dots were visible everywhere. Everyone loves them. i point them at my house and using two gives good coverage. yes other colors would be great additions. But these work well. You can see them in action here or Edited January 23, 2015 by Big Sanch Mafia
