JBrownUP
I just bought this system not 2 weeks ago and on the biggest weekend of Christmas the brand new FM transmitter that came with LOR quit. Now I'm stuck having to use a speaker and can't find anyplace close by that sales a long range fm transmitter. I'm losing my mind here as this is my first year and I've been looking forward to this weekend since I started this whole project 2 weeks ago. Does anyone have any ideas of a store nearby that might sale one???? I live in Northwest AR and I'm willing to travel to make this night happen!! Thanks!! George Simmons
Man, that really sucks. I personally know of no stores that sell transmitters worth owning. But maybe there's something where you live that's different than everywhere else I know about. If you're looking for a high quality stereo FM transmitter that actually works with a signal that reaches the street for about half the price you paid, go to Amazon and search for CZH-05B. You should be able to find them for about 60 bucks delivered. Make sure you buy from a seller who has them in stock for immediate shipment. I'd say "Good luck", but with a quality transmitter you won't need luck. Merry Christmas!
Denny
The only places that come to mind are Radio Shack and Best Buy. I know they sell the ones for use in vehicles but have no idea if these can be used/modified. Not familiar with the Whole House transmitter sold by LOR, what is wrong with it. If it is something as simple as power, you could probably just get a new wall wart/power supply for it.

I hear a little pop noise on the radio when I turn it on, but I see nothing on the LCD screen at all. The only places that come to mind are Radio Shack and Best Buy. They all have those 60 dollar transmitters for cars but I'm just not sure those would work well enough. What really stinks is this is the main weekend for cars, IMO. plasmadrive
Almost sounds like you lost the channel it was programmed to. Try resetting the channel and see if that helps. Also, if you don't have a battery in it, put one in. I know that sounds odd but try it and without the wall wart. It may run on a battery but not on the wall wart due to a bad plug or bad wall wart or something.. just give that a try. Kinda like chicken soup.. couldn't hurt.. Where are you located? I have a WH transmitter that I am not using. but if you are not local here would make no sense to ship it.

I've also tried it with batteries and without the plug, still nothing. I'm in northwest Arkansas. So bummed.... plasmadrive
If you have no screen you have no channel to reset so it is moot. Wow.. that sucks.. Other then opening the thing up and digging for the problem internally, which will void the warranty, you are SOL. Keep looking for a replacement near you. I'm not going to open it up. I just want to return it for a refund and by a different one. I've been reading that there have been problems with this type of unit recently. Thanks so much for all you help.

JBrownUP
That's what it really seems like which makes me wonder why they don't change over to a better product. With that said, it is impossible to find one at a local store. Only option seems to be online.
bob_moody
Back in the day when the newest version of LOR was 1.63 ... there was an antenna mod that alot of people used on those little Belkin in car transmitters ..It worked... for the most part .. Thats what I first used and was able to transmit 300 to 500 feet .. just enough so people could hear it but kept the men in black vans that wear sunglasses at night from stopping by. If you have one and dont mind opening it up .. search for Belkin antenna mod over on Planet Christmas .. I'm sure its still there .... somewhere ..just dont expect a lot out of it .. but .. as I always say .. "any kind of clothes fit a naked man" ... it will do in a pinch .. But dont run to Walmart and buy one to cut up .. throwing good $$ after bad .. Bob
