Santas Helper
On a wet, drizzle, cold night I looked out the window and saw a fire truck outside watching the show. They stayed for a while too. It was a slow night because of the weather (not much traffic on my street) but it was pretty cool to see them sitting there enjoying the show in between emergencies. I guess it was better than sitting at the station waiting for the next call. I'm glad to see they were able to take a break from their hazardous job. I've never seen that before. Just thought I would share. Tom
George Simmons
Nope - we've never had a fire truck park and watch before either. Did have an ambulance once. (And no-doubt our fair share of ambulance chasers over the years.) I remember it was kind of spooky seeing the ambulance there. Mega Arch
I''ve seen your show in person Tom. So I know why they were there. They got a call for a fire emergency for SW OKC. They saw the glow coming from your house miles away and thought "must be it". When they arrived and saw your amazing show, they were spell bound and couldn't leave. (We can only hope another fire truck answered the original call for them.)
dstevens
Our local volunteer FD puts Santa on the back of the engine and they go through all of the neighborhoods in their first due area. When they passed by our display, they stopped for a while to watch.
SparkDr
We're still waiting on a fire truck at our show, but an ambulance and a police cruiser have both made appearances. Just learned a few days back from our UPS guy that they don't have radios in their trucks, so we set him (and his helper) up with a portable radio last night to take in some of the show. Judging by the toot of the horn and thumbs-up as they drove away, we have now earned the "boys in brown" seal of approval.
