Anyone have a controller change unit ids by themselves?

Yesterday we had some rain so I shut the display down and powered off all the controllers. Today I powered everything up and ran the hardware utility. It recognized all but one controller. So I tried it again with the same results.

So I disconnected the cat 5 cables and ran one from the computer to the controller not being recognized. It found it! Only it was now id #6 instead of #7. So I changed the id back, hooked everything back up and is working fine.

So I ask, has this ever happened to anyone else?

You sure it's not a controller with a physical dial to set the ID?  I did that once on the one and only dial controller I had because... I forgot. :)

I had that happen last year!  It happened several times-to the point I had to check every night to see if it was on the right one or not.  Not excited this happened to you, but at least validates I am not nuts.  I think a few people thought I was crazy.  Wish I had some insight to why but don't.  Hopefully that was an isolated incident for ya!  Merry Christmas!

The question begets an answer. Are these controllers with the two white dial switches?

I feel like a goof.  This was on a CMB-24D.  I just went to check on it a few minutes ago (the sun is shining so I can see.) :)  A stupid lizard is in the box.  His little claw must have flipped one of the switches as he was moving around.  Fixed, no more lizard.
