catfish
I'm not sure where this thread should go. I have a 16 channel box from wow lights. At first only the 1-8 channels were working and that was it. 9-16 had power but my lights were not coming on. Now, nothing is coming on, even if I click the steady on from the hardware utility. I bought this a year ago and didn't get to use it last year. It shows my program is running but I am at my wits end. The box does have power going to it and the green led light is flashing on the inside of the box. When I tried to get support help, they told me I had a bad box and return it. Until I changed things from talking with tech support the first 8 chnnels worked. Now that I made the changes tech support had me do nothing works. dgrant
Ok, lets ask this...have you verified that you have power on both plugs going into it? Is the green light blinking? I'll assume that its address is still "01" if you haven't used it yet. Now, when you connected it, how did you do so to the computer? You should have received a USB/RS485 adapter. The one end goes into a USB port on the computer and the other, you connect a Cat5/6 cable to it and plug that directly into the controller. From there, you launch the LOR Hardware Utility, tell it to scan for the port adapter and assign a comm port number to the system. Then tell it to "refresh" which should locate the controller plugged into it. Do Not plug the controller's RJ45/Cat5 connector/cable into a computer TCPIP port or computer switch/router...you will indeed ruin it or the switch, router, computer or all of them. catfish
Yes the green light is blinking. The unit is assigned 01. I do have the adapter and it is hooked it to the USB port on the side in my laptop. It identifies that location as comm 5 and finds the unit. Now when I try to turn the lights on at 100% they won't come on. If I go outside and unplug the power and plug it back up, the lights (hooked to the box) will blink. dgrant
When you do the refresh, it finds the controller. You select that controller and then all channels will be automatically selected for that controller, 1-16 in the hardware utility and yet when you touch the %100 on, nothing happens? catfish
Yes that is correct. I have taken my meter (just now) and verified the correct voltage coming into the box. 123 volts to be exact. That is she is showing on the wires that hook into the circuit board. Both sides show the same.
dgrant
Apparently you have a serious failure of the board itself. I suggest that you open a repair ticket with the LOR help desk and plan on extracting the board to send it to them. Oh, check the fuses on the board although I suspect they are both good. catfish
Thank you for your help. They suggested I send the box back in for them to look at. I was hoping maybe it was something simple I could probably repair myself.
