LOR and windows 8.1 is anyone running it

Old Sarge

Recommended Posts

I am having major problems with it. first off the LOR control panel is not showing as being available, and second is the Super star seq, is not even showing up on the menu when I do find it. which is in the programs file..

Is anyone else here running LOR on a new computer with windows 8.1 installed on it.

I just got this one today because my show comp had win XP and got sick on me..

Thanks

I have it on my laptop with windows 8. I have not had any issues.  I would try installing LOR again.

Yes I'm running 8.1 on my show computer. Only issue I have had was my control panel light bulb in the task bar sometimes disappears without reason and I need to reopen with the task manager. Outside of this minor issue it has been working fine. Windows 8 can be a little challenging to get use to at first however once you do you will like it.

I had the same issue as Old Sarge. I just reinstalled light o rama and it has been doing ok so far. And I am have the same problem as Marty Belisle but it happens when i shutdown my laptop.

When you are on the Start Screen (no need to click anywhere) just start typing the word Light, after a few seconds you should see a list of all of the Light O Rama applications.

Right click on each one and select Pin to Start.

They will then appear on the main start screen where you can drag them to re-arrange.

Hope this helps.

I had a problem with win8.1. On the device manager, under com ports, there was an extra intel driver (active something something). I deleted it any worked fine afterwRds

We have multiple customers running 8.1.  The issue isn't the LOR programs, it is the usability of Windows 8 (or 8.1) that is causing you the problem.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just got a new machine and Super Start Editor will not run at all.

it is a Gigabyte AMD 6 core with 16 gig of memory and a AMD dual video cards setup with 2 Gig.

All other LOR software runs just fine. This is my show machine and it also is running shows without a problem.

Can someone assist in this.

I don't believe it's windows 8.1 as the previous computer was a windows 8.1 machine and it ran everything perfectly. I believe it's the fact I now have dual video cards and I think the program does not know how to handle that configuration.
