smithzone
We have a golf cart parade this Sunday and this year's theme is "how festive and BRIGHT can your cart be at night?" Interesting I know! So we have a 48v DC cart with 6x6v DC batteries (I know the math is off, but that is how they label them). I can connect a lead to the +/- posts on two batteries in a row and get around 14.7v DC. This is in range for one of my CMB24D cards and thinking I can add a couple of my RGB 10w spots and some dumb ribbon. I also thought about buying a standalone 12v marine battery and just powering off of that. Thoughts on this plan? Improvements on this plan? Sound and sequence set to music might be next year;)
k6ccc
I would run it off a separate battery. There is a huge amount of noise on the DC on a golf cart because of the motor controller (depends some on the type of controller). If you were close, I could get into that and have lots of spare 12V lights and controllers available. However, you are across the country.... smithzone
Good point - I can imagine there will be noise and voltage variance when the motor is working hard and could be an issue. One of those stereo filters for cars might work on the noise, but already leaning towards standalone deep cell battery.
Aaeolien
Yeah just plop another battery on the cart. Probably easiest and simplest method to ensure you have no power issues. Oh and make sure we get pics and videos of said golf cart.
