Got my Comeuppance this year.

After 6 seasons of mostly routine setups and mostly trouble-free lighting seasons, the laws of averages got even.

I've spent the past two days chasing ghosts and gremlins instead of enjoying my light display.

I'm running 6 networks this year, and I found out that apparently not all gen3 boards will accept 500K speed.  After spending a couple hours trying to figure out why I was getting nothing at all from one of the 500K networks, I decided just for the hell of it to drop the speed down to 115K.  Instant success!  3 gen3 boards, 3.5 sets of CCPs, and one set of CCBs.  Why wouldn't it run on 500K?

Then on my regular network, which has 26 controllers and 2 CCRs, I had a bad cable and one bad controller.  I'll tell you - just about everything I know and every trick I've mastered and it still took two days to isolate the problems.  I'm starting to see the attraction of a Mr. Christmas ...

Sorry to hear about your problems :(

Can't help you on the Gen3 boards, but on the CCDs, check the firmware. My 3 CCP sets were early release sets and would not take 500K until I upgraded the firmware. Now they work just fine at 500K.  Does seem rather odd that everything on that network would not take 500K.  Makes me wonder if the problem is not the controllers.  Just for grins, for test, swap the USB adapter and see if maybe the USB won't do it.  Seems more likely than 8 controllers not working.
