Gen3 upgrade

I have some older boxes, I know some are Gen2, might have some Gen1. If I swap some out for Gen3, do I just need the card itself? I have the plastic enclosures, input/output cords and strain relief that came in the original kits.

Fantastic. Changing the mounting locations on the boards didn't seem like a LOR type move but wanted to be sure, in case there was a good reason for it

Uh, why do you want to stop using perfectly serviceable boards?  The G3 controllers really don't give you much more than 500K, along with dimming curves and ghost loads for LEDs- both of which you can work around.  

 

I personally wouldn't scrap them.

I agree with Mike. I still have Generation 1 & 2 controllers & they work just fine. If you watch any of my videos my Leds dim just fine with both Gen 1 $ 2 boards. Maybe our wire here in Canada on the light strings is thicker & that helps. Heck use that money to buy ccps or ccbs or ccrs.
