Issues with pasting from clipboard

Seems to be a pretty straightforward process in Sequence Editor.....

Load the clipboard with an *.lcb file

Clipboard file shows as loaded in the Clipboards tool - "Copy" button in toolbar goes grey

Select cell and hit the "Paste" button in the toolbar or by right-clicking.

 

Nothing happens.

 

Tried unloading and reloading the clipboard file and restarting - nothing.

 

is there a setting somewhere that is preventing the paste?  something basic that I'm missing?

Something that has always bugged me about SE is after you load a clipboard you must then select that clipboard.  The radio button shows as checked when you click the name of the clipboard. 

 

There are paste modes below too.   The regular way is to paste by cell.   If your clipboard was created by something that knows the duration of beats then you paste by Time.  

If you have Stretch selected and select just one cell as the target then it be all smootched in that one cell.

Not only do you need to select the clipboard you loaded, but you also need to unlock it in order to be able to use it in any way.

nah.. you don't.. you need to unlock it only to over write it.  You can paste without unlocking..

Tried it locked and unlocked.  Still get nothing.

Also tried:

Paste by cell

Paste by time

Select a single cell

Select the entire target pasting area.

Removed and reloaded the clipboard

 

 

Is it possible that my sequence is "locked" which prevents the paste?  Don't kno if that's possible, but that is what it seems like.

I got it to work this morning.  Although I cannot be sure, I think I was not waiting enough time for the entire clipboard to load, and was cutting off the process clicking all over the screen because I did not have enough patience to let the data crunch.
