portcity_gt
Anybody used these? I passed on it the first couple times i saw it this year....third time i broke down and bought it. It ran about six hours and the red quit working. Its kinda cool i guess but im not sure if its worth having.
tjflory
Lasers can be cool. I had a couple reds ready to go for my Halloween Show... Then realized I live only 5 miles from ICT. (Wichita Int. Airport) ... no lasers for me. I'll use them inside only. Anyway. If you like it, go for it. Have fun with it. tj
Mwhite7097
I use these from Meritline. At $19 the price is right. They are very bright and work great but if used outdoors, must be in an enclosure. Upsides are obviously price, brightness of beams, and adjustable settings for differnt patterns. 2 downsides are that they don't work great in the cold (had to insulate and warm enclosure) and one must be VERY careful not to point any lights towards the sky. I am on a landing path to the airport and don't want FAA showing up at a show.

kiplorenzo
There are other options than the laser you are using: Star Projectors are available on Ebay... I use Crystal Ball Globes: http://www.amazon.com/Super-Wonderful-Crystal-Effect-Lighting/dp/B00E5WQBWU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1414675374&sr=8-1&keywords=LED+Crystal+BallThey must be put into a Plastic Enclosure Which I get from the Container Store. I cut out the top to match the globe, then Caulk around the globe. These are true DMX Fixtures and the color change is great (See my 2013 Videos- https://www.vimeo.com/kiplorenzo) altho White is not something that is there... as RGB makes white, I have multicolor moving stars..
