danbeveridge
As a relative newbie, I hope this isn't as big a problem as it seems to me. I thought I would have an easier year, putting lots of leg work in the last few years. Just thought I would add a song and maybe change up the configuration a little, ya know. Wells, nothing will load onto the computer involving lightorama. I keep getting automation error. The files are there--just nothing will go. Has anything like this happened to anyone? I hope i am missing that one little thing that is right in front of me. Thanks for looking and hope y'all have a great year for your lights! k6ccc
Can you be a little more specific about what wont load? For example, do the LOR programs (Sequence Editor, Visualizer, Show Editor, Schedule Editor) load, or do sequences not load, or something else. What error messages do you get. Be as specific as possible. It will help us help you...
LOR Staff
Let's clean out the Light-O-Rama entries in your Windows Registry and in essence, install the full Light-O-Rama application from scratch. If possible, open Sequence Editor and goto Help/About LOR Sequence Editor. Copy your license key number somewhere. You'll need this later. Shut down the Sequence Editor. If the LOR light bulb is in your system tray, right click and pick 'Unload Light-O-Rama' Go into the Windows Control Panel and uninstall the Light-O-Rama application (Typically under 'Programs and Features'). Don't worry about your existing sequences because they will stay in place. Now we're going to wipe the LOR Registry entries. Make a backup of your Windows Registry (do an internet search if you've never done this before... but it's easy) Now download this program: http://www1.lightorama.com/downloads/3.11.2/LORRegistryWipe.exe Run the LORRegistryWipe.exe program. This will clear out all LOR entries in the Windows Registry so it will be like your computer has never heard of Light-O-Rama before. Now reload the Light-O-Rama S3 package. If you don't already have the software the Light-O-Rama software downloads can be found at http://www1.lightorama.com/sequencing-software-dow... The latest version is at the top of the page and previous versions are located at the bottom of the page. It's a big file and could take several minutes to download so be patient. When asked, you'll need to re-enter your Light-O-Rama License Key so use what you copied at the beginning of this process or find your license key here: http://lightorama.com/licenseCheck.html That's it! Your sequences are still in the same location on your computer hard drive as before.Run your tests again.
danbeveridge
Thank you jim and devmike. The steps given worked! I had tried many things, including deleting and reloading, but didn't run the program after that you had mentioned after i deleted. nothing would load, and the error messages were varied depending on what i tried to do to fix it. number 440 is the only specific i can remember. I found links of similar things happening that just deleting and reloading on repair fixed, but it didn't work on mine. maybe it needed the updates? I don't know. But hopefully this may help anyone else that encounters this. Thanks guys and hope you have a great year with your lights!'
