aesl1982
so ive been looking at the creative display led lights, pricing isn't that bad around 150 for 12 boxes of 4" spaced leds about 20 ft a box. my problem is I was looking at m5 pure white, 5mm minis pure white and, c9 pure whites. using blue c9's for the yard border and the white c9's for the house trim. seems like I need more colors. any suggestions as to what people use for colors. most the multi color strands seem to look cheap and trashy time to time in my opinion, I know it needs color just stumped as to what colors people use and what size bulbs works and look the best. SparkDr
I think you'll find that Red, Green, Blue, and White are the most common single-strand colors for Christmas enthusiasts around here.

Mega Arch
and what size bulbs works and look the best.Size differs with the prop you're lighting up and in relationship to your other props. Also, how close to your audience the prop is will help determine the bulb size you need.

aesl1982
Anyone have a preference on where they buy extension cords at good prices
Mr. P
Anyone have a preference on where they buy extension cords at good prices Get some SPT 1 wire and some vampire plugs and make your own. It is cheaper and you can make the exact lengths that you need without all the excess cord laying around.
aesl1982
The spt1 is strong enough to power the controllers? And power the lights to the xintroller also? Are they outdoor use or should I wrap in plastic? Are the vampire plugs the ones where u just slip on the wire and slide cover shut and it terminates itself
Mr. P
For the controllers I would use regular ext cords but for the lights coming off the controllers you can use the SPT1 cord and yes they can be used outdoors. The vampire plugs are the ones you described. I would like to clarify, the SPT 1 wire is good up to 7 amps so it should NOT be used to power the controllers. It works great to power the lights coming off the controller. Edited October 14, 2014 by Mr. P
aesl1982
well that's awesome information to know thanks a ton, that cuts me down from needing 50+ cords to just the three for the controllers and use the stp1 for the rest of the display
