Launching LOR sequences from a command line?

Recommended Posts

I know this has been asked before, but for the life of me I haven't been able to find a clear answer, so I thought I'd give it another shot ~

Is it possible to run LOR sequences (S2 / S3) from a Windows command line, and if so, could someone post an example?

I am very aware they can be triggered by pushbutton, but I really need to be able to launch specific sequences, on demand, from the command line.

If someone has an LOR command line reference they could share, it would be most appreciated!!

Thanks!  :)

There is no provided CLI at all.  But   what you want to do can be done by trickery.

In the show builder,  create a single song show for each of your sequences.   Name it by the song.    You will also need a show with no songs in it.   Nothing.lss

Set up your LOR schedule to play a generic show.. playingnow.lss

Your controlling program will replace the contents of playingnow.lss with the single song you want to hear.    LOR detects the change and starts playing that show as soon as the currently playing song completes.   You must also overwrite it again 20 seonds later with nothing.lss so the song does not play back to back.   If no new song is requested.. the nothing.lss plays nothing and LOR waits until its show file is replaced again.

This is what miip does and it provides a web page user interface for your guests to select the song.

Hey Bob -

Appreciate your feedback and suggestions for a work-around; I'll give it a try when I get home this evening!

If I understand correctly, the show I want to run, for example "Lunusandlucy.lss", would need to be renamed to "playingnow.lss", then copied to the location of & replace the current active "playingnow.lss".  Am I tracking correctly?

Also, any particular section the shows would need to be built under in the Show Editor (startup, animation, musical, or shutdown), and are there any special editor options that need to be set for each show before it is saved?

Thanks!

Randy

One song only in musical.  No other options should be used.    Rename will lose your content.    Over-write playing now show with what you want to play.    I suggest all the show files remain in the same folder.   Your midi control knows how long each song is.  After LOR starts playing the song you must replace show file again to avoid the loop repeat.    PlayingNow.lss has no retained content and is there under the generic name for the schedule which will not change.

copy  LetItGo.lss  PlayingNow.lss /y
