uncledan
Can someone please advise the best way to wire rope light to christmaslightshow.com shooting stars? Darryl gives a link to Planet Christmas on how to do it, but nothing there I can. Action lighting appears to be the place to purchase the supplies. How have people wired the shooting tails of the stars? Trying to figure out what I need to order. I've never seen or used cut to length rope lights.... jasonlaurea
I just built 10 shooting star wireframes this summer (I used zip ties to get the rope light on the wireframes) and I used Birddog Distributing for my lights and connectors. Their prices were great and the service was even better. I had a problem connecting one of the tails to the star and I called their customer service guy to ask about a possible solution and he had his warehouse guys go out and play with the lights and supplies to come up with a solution. Once they did, he called me back and told me exactly what I needed to order. Here is a link to site and a picture of the first star I did (it's a little messy because I took the picture before I zip tied all the cords back). http://www.birddogdistributing.com/Rope-Light-Accessories/

jasonlaurea
I used 120v 3/8" yellow Incan lights.
athompson99
I did 7 stars from ChristmasLightShow. I bought a 150 roll of 1/2" LED Bright White lights and cut them into 15' sections. I also bought 7 power cord kits. I started at the bottom tail and worked my way around using zip ties. I looped back on the top flare which takes more rope light but lets you use 1 strand of rope. The 150 roll was $129.00 at 1000bulbs.com. Hope this helps.
jeffl
I think it's m206 or something with that number from Action Lighting. 3/8 white Incan rope light. I'll be placing an order for the third spool of the year later today. It has an 18" cut length so it works good for this kind of stuff. It also holds up well to the elements compared to the cheaper stuff.
uncledan
Thanks. I just realized I didn't click "follow this topic". I got the 3/8 rope from action lighting. My question is how do I connect the three tails and the star itself to one power cord without wasting lights?
