I can't really seem to post pictures on this forum for some reason

Anyway, here is the info if anyone is interested.

There is a very short video showing them working.  I haven't really done any programming yet.  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6mmj1wrm6mmx3pd/AABwe4XclnJohx5F66o-U6dta?dl=0

Look great. Can't wait to see them sequenced.

A question...

How are you using the DMX bridge? And do you have a pixel controller of some kind? I did my pixel trees last year and used a couple of e682s. Wondering if I coulda gone another way.

Thank you for sharing, I will look at these for next years mini trees...

Where did you get the Cages from? I like the little twist at the top.

Wal Mart was carring them.  I bought 9 of them a couple of months ago.  Tried to buy some more last week but they were no longer carring them in the store.  They may have them online but have not checked.

Nice job by the way, Plasma.

All the info is in one of the PDF in the dropbox.  I linked to all the major components.

I got them months ago as well.  Just started putting this all together a few weeks ago..

I have been thinking about something like that for a while.  Very nice.  Thanks for the pics and video.

Thank you,

I will try to post a better video later after I do some programming and figure out how to get the camera to shoot it without saturating the colors..

Wouldn't regular tomato cages work for this also?

I don't see why not.  I was actually going to do spirals with these Oblisks but changed my mind.

One thing that did come in handy was the way the tops were done.  I didn't have to weld anything to hold the tops together and I was able to use some of the heavy gauge wires  to hold the star toppers.  These actually were cheaper than tomato cages when I bought em'  And they were already painted black.. a bonus.

Glad you liked em.. BTW, if you didn't see it, there is a new drawing in PDF form in the dropbox folder with the wiring diagram, if you are interested.

Ya know.. I didn't really answer this other than to say go look at the drawing.. but I will explain more.

I am using the Bridge to translate e1.31 from the LOR to multi universe SPI but it outputs using RS485 protocol.  That allows for great distance and high noise immunity.  The Pixel Extenders take the RS485 and turn it into single ended data that the pixels can use directly.   The e682 is a great board. I use it's little brother, e6804, to run the Plasma Icicles.... but I put Pixel Extenders from J1S at the pixel end and drive those with differential out of the e6804.   I have no noise issue or distance issues.. It just works.
