Old Sarge
I currently have 32 channels LOR 3.11.2 advanced... My question is after a comment.. I was told that I can use Super Star Sequencer to help sequence shows that I can use on LOR with my mini lights etc. Is that true or false... I am thinking of adding another controller before Christmas and would like to up grade and use it if it would really help me with things. I do not plan on getting the strip lights and or ccr I think they call them for a while yet. As I say I am a newbie and budget is something I have to work with. I am just trying to do more for myself instead of having to ask for sharing so much and hoping for something that will help me be on my own more with it. ItsMeBobO
If you are on a budget. SS is not needed for 2 or 3 ac controllers. You can do it within SE
sax
We are all on budgets. Always looking for that extra buck and more importantly bang for the buck.Superstar can be used for normal controllers. It is an entirely different way of sequencing. For me, I will never go back to the sequence editor as superstar has tools that just can't be done easily in the sequence editor. Morphs, nudging, changing which element is on or off on the fly. These are huge time savers. The nice thing about LOR is this program is available for you to try now. You won't be able to export your completed sequences until you have the license but you can try it and see how you like it before you buy.Superstar is different in how you program. Be sure to understand that it is a new way of sequencing. For you it may not be hard to transition because you are new to sequencing. But for old users of the LOR sequence editor it is definetly a change.Be sure to have visualizer working. Superstar will use this as your channel setup. Sequencing is faster. I am able to quickly do "let's try this, what will this look like, etc" on the fly without destroying the sequence just by adding a prop or removing it. I can do this so quickly that it really makes experimenting a joy.Nudge is used to get that effect at exactly the right time. Just the nudge feature alone saves hours per song.Like I said, you have a copy of the program in your s3 download. Start it up. Import your visualization and give it a try. Then decide.Be sure to watch the video tutorials. Especially for importing your visualization. Otherwise you will see a grid for CCRs. That usually sends 'em running. Seattlemusicguy48
While the Sequence Editor can be used for programming 2 or 3 standard controllers (and there are lots of sequences out there that could be adapted to your set-up for many of the popular songs), I love the way the SuperStar Instant Sequence works. However, there is a knack to changing the parameters. If you just work with the default, you'll probably find that there are too many lights moving way too fast. The tutorials are great and you will want to concentrate on knowing your way around the TCM assignments and the Timing Map.
