wensteve
Getting this error when I try to enable show schedule in the LOR Control Panel. Can anyone help?
Don
The USB adapter is not hooked up, or is not hooked up correctly. When that is the case, the shows can't be started.
Cdanna77
Did you put the usb in the same slot you did when you set it up. I had that the other day. I just had to swap usb slots.

Don
Close *all* LOR programs. Hook up the USB adapter and connect your controller to it. Now open the Hardware Utility. Can the HWU find the controller? If it can close the HWU and start your shows.
wensteve
Would it matter if I changed computers? I decided to go with a different computer in the house. I installed the LOR software on it, but that's all I did. Then tonight I scheduled a show and used a memory stick with all my sequences on it and tried to enable the show and got this error. It works on my previous laptop that I was using but I really need it to work on this computer. Im thinking I missed a step when I switched computers. I'm still really new at all this, did I miss something?Close *all* LOR programs. Hook up the USB adapter and connect your controller to it. Now open the Hardware Utility. Can the HWU find the controller? If it can close the HWU and start your shows.I did what you asked and I get an error when I open the Hardware Utility. sax
Verify the USB 485 is on port 7. Then verify in windows that port 7 is not in error...if it has a yellow exclamation point it is in error. Also verify only 1 com port 7 in use. If 2 is configured you should get the yellow exclamation point. If the port is in error there is a section in the LOR guide that came with the USB 485 on how to uninstall and reinstall. If the USB 485 is on another com port then reconfigure LOR network preferences to correct port.

Don
One other quick fix may be to open the HWU and click the "Auto Configure" button on the top left part of the screen.
EARLE W. TALLEY
Did you also load the LOR USB485 drivers on the new computer?

Jim Hans
Go here http://www1.lightorama.com/firmware-updates/ and at the bottom download the driver setup file for the RS-485 onto your show computer. Close all LOR programs, plug in the RS-485 USB device and then run the setup program. It will install all the correct drivers. After it's done, open the hardware utility, it should find it. If not, click the auto configure. You should be good to go.
sax
How's it going? You load the drivers yet? Your problem sounds to be a windows communications device (the LOR 485) not installed error. So you need to install that device onto your PC. The book that came with the 485 device should tell and show you how to do this. It has pictures which is worth a thousand words.Jim gave the link to the driver if you don't have the disc that shipped. The manual can also be found on the main LOR page under documentation if you don't have that.Post us your progress.
wensteve
Got it up and running...finally. It's been a rough go so far, so many problems. We literally got all our display/software a week ago and tried to throw it all together for Oct 1st. That was our first mistake. We are not that advanced with computers but can get by, this stuff is intense though, I feel like I need months to just learn the hardware/software. Max-Paul
Heck I am a computer nerd myself. Not at expert level but not real newbie either. I bought and started in January a few years ago. Good luck trying to rush it all in the 11th hour. If it does not happen this year. Just get a running start on it for next year.
