If this hobby were an Olympic sport......

If our HOBBY were an Olympic sport there would have to be a standard song or 2 by which we were all judged.  Its like the compulsories in figure skating or gymnastics where everybody has to do the same thing. What song do you think would be fitting for us to be compared and judged regardless of display size. If you have 16 channels in your display division you would have to sequence the same song as a 1600 channel display in their division. The Olympic governing body would determine the size of each competing division.   I think Wizards would have to be in the running for one of them. What do you think?

I did Amazing Grace (Yule) but I have not done The House on Christmas Street....in fact I do not recall hearing that song at all......now I'm curious.

If it were like the Olympics, the compulsories would have nothing to do with the art of the event. They would be boring and no one would watch.

Beer Barrel Polka?

Mega Arch: Very nice set up. I wouldn't enter as I would probably have been eliminated in regionals. What is that set up on the sidewalk? CCBs in some sort of a container? Can't quite make it out but looks good. Well done

My display has 512 channels using 32 DIY controllers....I can practically build them blindfolded now. I have 5 additional spare controllers in case a catastrophe strikes.

I'm contemplating making the starbursts/pinwheels that you see in my display and selling them in an online type store....still pondering that one though. I have a few more ideas that I will be prototyping over the winter.

No RGB's....

Any compulsory song would need to be one that everyone could sequence without needing a barf bag.  I don't think House is that song.

Plus, IMO it looks queer if your display doesn't have all the elements/props that the song you're playing calls attention to.

George - you are hilarious. Love your school of brutally honest. Many should learn from you...

It's not for everyone. When Archer started this post, what came to my mind was all the videos that were on-line at the time I was getting into LOR a few years ago. It seamed everywhere I looked, Judy was making an appearance and House was playing. LOL

Most of my songs are TSO but I did get written permission from Shadrack of Tennessee to use their Hallelujah Chorus which I really like. Amazing Grace by Yule is another of my favorites. I managed to work in some Manheim Steamroller to my introductions but nothing sequenced.
