Suggestion/Challenge for Computer Wiz's

OK, started setting up my display.  I know, it's still September, but have over 200 front feet and groups of channels (read, too many controllers).  I would love to see somebody develop an Android app for a tablet that would perform the same functions as the LOR hardware utility so I can check out each controller as I set it up.  Never fails that the gremlins have busted a triac or accomplished some other nefarious act while the controllers are in storage.  And to make it better yet, how about a bluetooth or wifi dongle to plug into the controller for the testing with the tablet.  Wouldn't have to carry a laptop, cat 5e cable, or USB adapter around the yard to check my controllers.  I could just carry my 7 inch tablet to each controller as it is set up.  I know somebody will jump right on this for me! :D

I just use my tablet with a VNC client to connect to my LOR computer.  Basically it just shows the computer's desktop on the tablet and then you can control everything LOR from there.  I also use my Android based phone too.

I followed the suggestion of several others and downloaded the pocket cloud app. As long as your show PC and tablet/phone have an internet connection it works very well.

The only negative is that I do not have things connected to my computer yet.  Running the cat 5e is usually about the last thing after I have completed set-up.  I normally Just set things up, connect the controllers to the lights and move onto the next part of set-up and repeat the process.  Controllers are all over the yard, near the display items.  Once I put the cat 5 out, the rabbits seem to think it is feeding time and bite into the wire.  They seem to know the extension cords are not food, but the smaller wire on the lights and for some reason, the cat 5 cable, seems to be fair game to them.  Maybe they can somehow feel/sense the 110 volts in the extension cords?  Perhaps I should get that Sentry "Paintball" Gun shown in the topic how to keep kids out of your display thread to control the rabbits!  :P
