Anyone Using LOR to Control a Projector?

Anyone using LOR to control a projector (virtual Santa)?  I want to put Santa in the window, but not during every song.  Turning the unit off & on doesn't seem to be a good solution.  I thinking more of a Play/Stop Play function.

Not having used a projector with LOR, I'd think that using a stop/play via a relay to the switches that control stop, play, pause, etc. could work, leaving the projector on and just pausing/stopping it, could also possibly leave the bulb on, creating a bright white light in the window where the material used to display the projection would be.

So I'd think turning it off/on completely would be the only way to go without having nothing but a bright light white lighting up the projection window with nothing being displayed on the "canvas" used in the window..

But not knowing how these newer projectors work, I'm still familiar with old school reel to reel 8mm and 16mm projectors, so I honestly don't know if their bulbs illuminate immediately upon power up, or if they require a "warm-up" time before full brightness is achieved, older incandescent projectors I've used required a moment or two before full brightness of the bulb would occur.

If a newer LED type bulb is used in the projector, I'd think off/on would work, as they are usually fairly instantaneous on getting to full brightness,  but an incandescent bulb may/may not probably require different circumstances on power up to full brightness.

Just my speculation on my part, not having had a chance to use or play around with these type projectors folks are using in their displays now.  Hopefully one day I'll get one of the newer ones to learn with.

I actually leave the projector running during the complete show from end to end...4 hours every night and I still use the same bulb for 3 years now. I created a few sequences with video and have those run at different times in my show. The one mentioned by Liberty-Laser, Virtual Santa I added a soundtrack ( 34th st Overature) via Audacity and run that in my show as well. When a video isn't running I changed my desktop to a Christmas Scene that plays throughout the show.

You are basically creating a new sequence just as if you are doing an audio file....ony difference is your creating a .wmv file.....so if you pull a youtube video and save it...save it as a .wmv file....now create a new sequence in LOR and use the .wmv file as you music/video file....Make sense ?

So we've gotten this far.  Has anyone figured out how to make your desktop screen go black after the sequence has finished playing?  Our sequence is just one part of our show and I don't want the desktop shown during the other pieces?  Please and thank you for your help!
