testraub
Not sure why, but I can't seem to get motivated this year! I have the plans in my head, but can't seem to want to get started putting them together. Any ideas? Tom Straub
ItsMeBobO
You want to prove you can whip out a great show in two weeks with 4 new songs, a few new controllers and everything will go so smoothly that you will be able to say one week would have been enough ? I suggest you go to the shed and review your props. Are you going to use all of them the same way? Are any in need of repair or upgrade. Stand out in the yard and then stand where the visitors park. Then recall all the people you talked with last season. Watch the video you took last year and post any you have not done so.
iflights
Similar issue. I was all ready to jump in and start in January again, but said, I'll take the month off. Jan turned to Feb, and Feb turned intoJune. Finally, just made a small daily goal to solder 1 connector on a string, maybe 2 and call it quits for the day. Built my 16 strings for the MT the same way. Small daily goals made the task less daunting. And no better feeling in the summer than sitting on the back porch sequencing for a couple of hours with a glass of sangria at your side.
grump010
I use a white board to list all the things that I need to and or want to complete and when I feel like it or when I have time, I just pick a task and work away at it. Once I get started, I always amaze myself at how much I get completed. CheersDaryl B.
eurbani
I had a therapist recently tell me something that I have found very helpful. I have trouble getting motivated because I just have too much to do. This is what she said: "think about all the food that you have to eat in your life---tons and tons". If it was all piled in front of you at once, you would be overwhelmed and wouldn't want to even take the first bite." I guess the point is to have a plan and take small bites.
