File errors when running first time install on Vista...

When installing the LOR software on a Vista - Ultimate machine I received the following errors:

"Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."

"Component 'MSCOMM32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."

I am not sure if this was caused by Vista Ultimate or because of other IO control software that I use in my field, but the solution to correct my problem was simple and documented at the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

To correct, open the run command (in the start menu) and enter the following for each corresponding error:

regsvr32 /u c:windowssystem32comdlg32.ocx (for comdlg32.ocs errors)
regsvr32 /u c:windowssystem32mscomm32.ocx (for mscomm32.ocx errors)

This will unregister each file and should allow the LOR software to work.

Hope this helps someone!
