robin1373
Hello, What is the best place to buy smart pixel strips? I have looked online and I have also head of RayWU. It seems by the time you pay for shipping from raywu that it is cheaper and faster to get the strips in the us. Does this sound correct or is there a better place to get them

sax
Last year bought 2 CCR from LOR. This year bought 2 12v strips, 400 2811 pixels, 3 power supplies, 25 pigtails, extensions 25 ft, 10 ft and 5 ft 10 each, 200 dumb bullet bulbs, 50 or so square RGB lights and including shipping have still paid less from Ray. Granted the CCR have a controller and my order doesn't have one. (I have a sans already)Sent email to Ray for shipping rate, requested DHL because it is faster than FedEx and had goods in 3 days. Will the strips last? Don't know. But they look like the CCRs to me in testing. Warranty? Probably not too good from Ray but I cut my CCRs so I don't have any warranty there either. But, most my RGB is from Ray and nothing has failed yet. Ray did short ship me some pigtails last year but gave me 25 for free on my next order. So I suspect he would do good if strips fail. Will I be singing a different tune next year? I don't know. But for $20 each those strips are worth the risk for me.
Crazydave
Depends where in the US you live.I have gotten products from Ray within 4-5 days of placing an order to Southern California (and as fast as 3 days). With a large enough order, the shipping costs will be more than offset by lower product costs. bphynes
I just placed an order with Ray. Living in Canada, I have to deal with importing and shipping, and at least one US supplier has simply decided that customers outside the US are not worth his time. So, importing from China is only slightly more complicated than importing from the US (although I lose the NAFTA benefits). Ray was quite accommodating with adjustments to the shipping rate (the AliExpress web store seems to assume each item is packed and shipped separately). LOR has amazing warranty service and good after-warranty service. But, their products are priced higher than piecing together things DIY. My non-LOR controllers are from Joshua 1 Systems; who were also pretty darn helpful in getting a package out to me in a hurry. However, their documentation is "thin". I suspect I will continue buying from many different sources, depending on what I need and how quickly I need it. - bph
