scubado
As to what to look forward to in software and hardware this year from LOR? Since most of us are planning our 2014 displays now, or at least should be.

bobschm
Rumor has it, the new version will include thought control. You imagine it, and it's sequenced! And yes, I just thought that up.
Surfing4Dough
Rumor has it, the new version will include thought control. You imagine it, and it's sequenced! And yes, I just thought that up. On that note, I suspect we better just "keep dreaming" that LOR will release details of upcoming improvements anytime soon, let alone actually release a major new software version early enough to be used this year. Hope they prove me wrong. 64bit software capable of easily handling several thousand pixels, with better tools for actually sequencing those pixels are what are in my dreams, FWIW,

Tim Fischer
I can always hope that they allow the visualizer and Superstar to understand generic pixel strings without making you input them one pixel at a time and making an artificially low maximum number, then maybe I could actually try these features. And some new features in the sequence editor would be nice. We've gone at least a year since there have been any major new features there. And there are plenty of things on the wish list...

And there are plenty of things on the wish list...I'm the the same boat... but... as a java programmer I didn't let wishing stop me. I decided I'd sequence the way LOR want's me to (LOR networkd and products) and translate it to what I really have (E1.31 pixels). more info here: http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/topic/30005-lor-cc-dmx-lets-you-use-cc-in-the-visualizer-and-dmx-in-the-show/Granted there's no pretty interface, but once you create the parameter file you don't need to change it until you add new hardware. I also use it to move lights form a bad channel to a good channel mid season (think bad triac) since really it's just a network/channel translator. I'll have to check this out... but as it stands, I'm using so many work-arounds to keep using LOR (including some of my own programmed utilities that mess with the LOR XML file) that I'm seriously going to have to start exploring other software options if LOR doesn't do something in the next year or so.And that's sad, as I always loved LOR software. But it needs to keep up with the times...-Tim

LightORamaDan
We will be making some major enhancements to the software this year that will provide enhanced support for the higher pixel counts. I do not have specifics available but it will be a significant change. I will be able to provide more specifics in a couple weeks.
