zvacman
Hi, I am brand new to all of this. I have had a static display of 30-40,000 lights every year but I think it's time to step up to LOR. My head is swimming with all of the terminology. I'm going to start small with just one controller. My first of many questions is: when using a 27 channel DMX board with RGB does that use one of the channels of the LOR? What are the capabilities of the 27 channel DMX board? My intention is to outline my roofline and all of my windows with RGB and I want them to be able to flash independently and change colors. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, please keep comments simple so my head doesn't explode. Thank You, from what I've read we have a great group of nut cases here! Ken Benedict
I'd suggest using the CMB24-D from LOR because of the simplicity; just plug it into the LOR network, setup the definitions and away you go.No DMX equipment required. It uses 24 channels and can control 8 of the RGB strips. If you have more strips, get another controller. If you'd like one ready to go, see here: http://store.creativelightingdisplays.com/CMB24D-RGB-DC-Controller-ReadyToGO-No-Assembly-CMB24D-RGB-RTG.htm Here's a video on how to setup the RGB strips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhpreKGzPXs And a video on how to change colors in LOR: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7j11VLsKoE
