Mickpat
I have a CTB16PC board which is rated at 30 AMPs total, 15 AMP per side. Can I jump the two sides and connect the board to a single 20 AMP circuit and run a max of 20 AMP total for all 16 channels?
Steven
The connectors for each side are probably only good to 15 amps, that's why the fuses are 15 amps. If you jumper the hot and neutral as is done in the manual, then everything will be going through the 15 amp fuse on the right side, so you will be limited to 15 amps. The proper way to use the board for a total of 20 amps is to connect each side to a separate power cord, then plug both power cords into a 20-amp duplex outlet.Note that each side will still be limited to 15 amps, but you could run a total of 20 amps if you keep it to under 15 on each side.
