Visualizer doesn't match sequenced material in one place

The entire song matches what is sequenced except for one place that lasts about 10 seconds.  It doesn't match when the whole sequence is played or when just the visible screen is played in that spot, and I even watched it in slow motion, it is dead on accurate.  When I created a new sequence, added the same Wav file, not MP3, the new sequence plays perfect.  Could it be other things going on in my sequence?  Shimmering for instance or chasing segments?  Is there some setting that I could be missing?

I should add that I tried a variable bit rate, a constant bit rate, and WAV, and the first thing that I did was to restart the computer.  I tried adding more to the new sequence and got the same result, all is well but that stretch of the song in the middle.  Very odd.
