missieod
I'll just say up front- a BIG THANK YOU to Dan and the LOR helpdesk!!!! I've been trying to get all the lights up (11,000 out of 14,000 done), but still have to do all the cords, program/assign/test the controllers, finish 4 more sequences, redo the layout of my channels because I was just dumb when I did it in July AND do my day job which is about as hectic as it can get right now, take care of my 5 year old daughter, and most important....get ready for my husband to come home. So today I finally get a few seconds to get my controllers assigned. I ordered some during the surprise sale and then added more to my display and ordered more in July. I put the boxes in the garage when they came in and just laid them out on the dining room table the other day. I get the first 5 assigned and test all the channels...hook up the 6th one to the computer and power...and no LED light. Not solid green, not flashing green...nothing. That's when I look at the big black box in the center of the board. It's coming off the board! I think OH SHOOT (well, not really but I'm sure you know what I really thought). I need to have all of this done before next Saturday. We go out of town for Thanksgiving and I have already mailed my invitations to my neighbors for opening night 1 December. I JUST DON"T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!!! So you wonder why I am totally freaking out??? I am completely emotionally overwhelmed. I talked with hubby this morning and he was waiting on the bus to take him to the airfield to leave Kuwait. The military members on the board will appreciate that Air Force air doesn't run like most airlines over here. Last he heard the plane was there, but you really never know if you are getting out of there until you feel the plane take off. So I am now in panic mode- Will he leave today? He has to get to Texas by Sunday in order to get home to Maryland by Saturday. Will I get all my Christmas lights done? OMG The controller is broken? If I push real hard on the transformer, the power comes on? Should I risk it? Hold on little girl, I'm coming to get you lunch.. I know you're bored and mommy is working on the Christmas lights again...Yes, daddy is trying to fly home today (ever try to explain to a 5 year old how military movements happen???) Oh crud, now I have to run to the store for a birthday present for a party she is going to tonight, I forgot???? Darn Darn DARN!!! Pure panic mode. I decide to take a breath and email the helpdesk during the busiest time of the year and hope and pray they get to me soon. I get the kid ready and start to head out the door. Lo and behold, I get a reply back before I get out the door asking me for a little more detail on the damage. I reply and go to the store. By the time I get the gift (and a Starbucks cuz I really needed more caffeine hahaha), I have a reply from Dan saying they are shipping me a replacement and a return shipping label. It sounds so stupid but I was almost in tears. With my life in complete chaos right now and the weight of being without my hubby for almost a year and it coming to an end so soon, this was the one thing that could have pushed me over the edge. And Dan and crew saved the day! I don't know of many other customer service places who are this outstanding! And the truth is, today- you all saved my sanity! So thank you so much for once again, providing superior service!
Jim Hans
Isn't it sad that excellent customer service has become so rare that we are surprised by it? At LOR however it is not rare which is why so many of us are loyal customers!
Orville
Absolutely agree with Jim. This is also why so many have made the move from other lighting products to Light-O-Rama, Dan and his employees are bar none, the best of the best when it comes to customer service and satisfaction! Wal-Mart or any other big box store. along with many online vendors, there is just no way anyone I've dealt with or worked could even compare to the customer service, and even loyalty that LOR and their employees provides its customers! missieod
It really is sad that most aces don't take pride in their customer service. And why human beings can't just realize how their actions and reactions affect others. My situation is such an example. No way that the initial ticket was answered by someone that knew I was ready to break down. But just because he is a professional and apparently an overall good person, he took care of my issue quickly and professionally. LOR is a model of what customer service should be. And as an aside- I got a text at 11:30pm last night from hubby. They were delayed again. Supposedly they left at 4am EST for Germany. If they stay on schedule. If they can stick to this schedule they have now, they'll make it to Texas with about 8 hours to spare to meet their Saturday return home. If there are anymore delays, I'll be trying to explain to a 5 year old why daddy isn't coming home in 6 days. Sheesh- it's tough being on this side of the deployment. I'd go back to combat any day if it means I don't feel like this. Well- back to the lights!
Mike G
You know, far too often the service members spouses may get overlooked. As a 20 year Navy Vet, I want to thank both You and your Husband for your service! I hope and pray he gets home to you and your daughter on time and your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
