shfr26 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 May I say that if you are now just looking to buy or setup your display, you may be a little late. This addiction takes many months to get setup and make it look correct. Also, as it says at the top of the page, most of the veteran's are working on their display and may not get back to you in a timely fashion. I know you will get all of your question's answered but if you not even looked at the software, you may want to wait till next year. Download the software, play with the software, and most of all , read, read and then read somemore on the forums. I will answer eveything I can, but crunch time is very, very close. Hope you all get your displays up and running. Any question's???
Ron Boyd Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 You're not already in crunch time? I've been in crunch time since Halloween.
shfr26 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 You're not already in crunch time? I've been in crunch time since Halloween. Yes, for about 3 months!
gc75067 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 ill be in crunch time in a couple of weeks.. this is my first year with LOR and im fairly sure im way behind lol...but not as far behind as those who may just now be buying controllers, software and lights
MikeA Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I have 240 channels, 64 new, and 2 new songs to add to 10. I might get started soon. Do you think I'll have time?
LOR Staff Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 For those of you new to Light-O-Rama and Light Animation, we now offer complete kits that will get you up and running in no time. 'Showtime Central' has everything you need to start a 16-48 channel show that is almost as easy as plugging in your lights. You can add the 'Plug-N-Show' SD card and not have to lift a finger, or go for more and add additional sequences from our sequence store. Showtime Central is not limited in any way, and can be expanded upon next year as you see fit. Since everything included in the Showtime Central kit is standard Light O Rama hardware and software, you are free to get as deep as you like - from staying with your Showtime Central kit as shipped, to learning how to sequence your own shows, adding additional controllers, or even adding RGB or Cosmic Color devices. While your first show may not be as big or elaborate as the original author of this thread's show, you can certainly still get started this year. If you do run into trouble, a quick help desk ticket or call will usually get you going.
jimswinder Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Any question's??? Sounds like you are too busy for questions....

shfr26 Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 I do think DevMikes statement of" not lift a finger" is a bit of a strech. You still need to run all your cords, make sure you are not overloading any channels or controls, and see that all your electrical is set up properly. Your devices and sequences may be plug and play but untill you have everything else set up correctly, you may have a few problems. As I stated, you may be able to get you display setup in time for this year and most of the members will answer any question they can, but at this point and time, you are cutting it very close. And last, I never said my display was either big or elaborate. I like it and most of the visitors do too.
