3D Star for 20' Mega Tree

Recommended Posts

I am putting up a 20' Mega Tree and need ideas how to build a 3D star. I would prefer 3 or 4 channels, but it needs to be visible at about 180 degrees. Thank you all for any ideas. This will be mounted on a Rohn tower.

My suggestion would be to make several stars.  Then assemble them in an astrick design if looking down on the star.  You can get by using 3 channels and give the star an illusion of it spinning.  Hope this helps.

I have one like this 3-channel-star-new__66899.1327109032.275 that I bought a few years ago.  Maybe the picture will give you an idea on how to make one.  I can pm you the link to the vendor that carries this and other styles.

I have one already populated with 35 Cool White LEDs on each star. They go for $42. I'll Take $40 for it and you pay shipping. I'll give you the LEDs for free.

PM me if you're interested

Yes, Ron I am very interested. Could you tell me why you stopped using it? Do you have a few good pics of your star. Tell me what you think shipping will be and lets do this. Oh what size is the one you have? I am really needing a 24"

Thank you

Michael

Unlit and lit. To make it easier to ship and make the shipping least, I can break it down and package it and then send it in a flat box. Not sure how much it would cost. I'm guessing maybe $15.

The reason I'm not using it is, I'm doing a 6 channel burst star like Brians on his Superstar tree.

That's a sweet star Ron.

Michael, you got a good deal there.

I am all about the good deals, thank you for your help on some of those deals Tom! The deeper I go into this obsession the more it appears to be a rich guys (or girls) hobby. Every great idea has many many hidden cost....... like extension cords, hardware more hardware more hardware LOL

After seeing your tower with this star Tom I decided it was the answer for the Mega Tree Star

CLS also has that star and you can get it as a complete kit with lights ......All that has to be done is put it together and screw it on.

Plasmadrive, I 'm replacing my 3D star this year with a pixel star.  The 3D star has white ropelight wrapped around it.  I'm not too far from you (2 hour drive) if you are interested....
