a31ford Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Got the Itch like the rest of us huh....... Welcome aboard !! These people are really helpful, everyone (for the most part) is trying to reach the same goal, SO, if you have a question, just ask, the only thing I would watch out for, is the people that are selling used stuff, GET some info from the forum people on who you are going to buy from (if you do) BEFORE you send any money to ANYONE !!! PERIOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As the season approaches, I would assume the fever gets crazier........ Greg
MCas4380 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Welcome. Figure your programing first after that it gets easier.
scubado Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Welcome aboard! You can do a lot of cool things with the DC controllers. Creative landscape lighting gives you hands on experience throughout the year and a head start on the holidays.

Santas Helper Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 get out now ,,,,sell all your stuff and don't get involved. James, it's too late. We cannot save him now. The LOR Gods have gottin in. Jon, welcome aboard. Best thing to do right now (especially now during set-up and run season), is read many threads. This is the most active time of the LOR forum so que in every chance you get to read whats going on. Also, do searches for any curious topics that come to mind.As mentioned, a lot of great folks here and a butt load of knowledge. Tom
FarrOut Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 You have a steep learning curve if you want to get up a display this year. Just take a week off work and close yourself in a room and start going through the video tutorials.Welcome and keep us posted on your progress and don't be afraid to ask questions. This is my first year to display, but I started last January.
derekb Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Welcome and have fun! The forums here are a wealth of knowledge. I would not have been able to set up my first show without the help provided here.
George Simmons Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) I really wish I could find a good 6 ch leaping arch sequence like the one I watched on youtubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_F5dtE6i8A Actually, the arches in that video are 7-channel models. And you'd do well to go with 7 channel arches (or even 5 channels) instead of six. I've sequenced both (I have 7-ch arches myself) and the ease of sequencing, and the number of options is MUCH MUCH greater with 7 channels. Six-channel models cannot match what you see on the video - "getting close" is the best you'll be able to do. Yes, that one extra channel really DOES make that much difference.
