Halloween is testing time for Christmas... I have a CMB24 linked to drive two dumb RGB strips. The sequencer works fine, it looks good on the screen simulation -but the actual RGB strip seems to be minutes behind.

I started the sequence to run RED - and to loop at end. It took almost 1 minute before the RGB strip started to display.  For tonight - I will leave it RED. I had tried to do a Red-Orange sequence that was not working.

I ran a Red for 3 seconds, Green for 3 second and Blue for 3 seconds sequence that did not display properly. It looks find on the screen simulation, but it sporatic (not the right colors, sometimes goes white, or other odd behavior)

I believe the RGB strips are wired correctly on the CMB24 board, but will have to examine all the connections tomorrow.

Any thoughts ?

Try this. Open up the hardware utilty (make sure all other sub programs are closed). Once you have the controller selected go to the control panel (the one with the sliders). Slide them up one at a time. Did say the first one light up the red, the second once the blue and the 3rd the green (provided this is the way you have them wired to the controller)?

I have my strips wired into the CMB24 as being Green, Red, Blue and changed the chanel colour in the software. The funny thing is that even though the strips I have may show R G B and the wires are conected to the right circuts on the CMB24, I have found that the strip may not display the right colour.

As the above post says, check the colour you have on the wire connected with the test hardware. I have had to this with all my strips and none seem to be labled correctly.

Thanks for the tip/reminder to use the hardware utility... Yes, it does work, but I find it is responding to a R/G/B - but that is correct for the way the CMB24/sequencer/setup is Default is 1=reg, 2=Green, 3=Blue,etc...

So it responds to that. Next steps will be to run it to some music/sequence and see what happens.

Well in testing tonite I cannot get the errors to show - maybe just a first light of the season attitude problem. On to the rest of my layout and back to finishing the sequences... so much to do.
