Nick Harpold Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I hired Philip Pyle owner or Lightertainment to do my sequencing for me this season. I contacted him in July to get a place in line so I wouldn't be down to the wire to get everything done. Philip said the sequencing would not be a problem, but he did require a deposit to hold a spot. This seemed reasonable so I paid the deposit thru paypal. He said the sequences would be done by Oct 1. I did not receive the sequences by that date. So I emailed him to see if there was a problem. I did not get a reply. So I went to his business website and found his phone number. I called and left a message asking if there was a problem. A few days later I received an email from Philip saying that the sequencing was taking longer than expected but I would have sequences sent to me in a few days. I waited a couple weeks and tried to contact Philip again. Now I get no response to emails, no response to voicemail's. I even tried to contact him on Facebook. It appears that Philip has taken my deposit and will not be providing any sequencing he had promised. Just to let the members of this forum know to steer clear of Philip Pyle and his Lightertainment business. Or to proceed knowing how he does business. The sad part is I have hired Philip in the past and everything went smoothly. I would have recommended him to anyone up until this point. If anyone reading this has experience sequencing CCR's and would be willing to tackle a few songs. Let me know and we can work out a price. I know its really late in the season to be looking for someone to sequence songs, but I figured it is worth a try.
Tim Fischer Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Phillip seems to do this every year. He promises work, takes a deposit, spends the money, then things come up, he can't refund the money so he hides. Eventually he'll come up with dozens of excuses and more promises.I wish there were a way to warn people so this quits happening every year. This is literally the 3rd or 4th time this has happened.

Tim Fischer Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) https://www.facebook.com/Lightertainment?filter=2 That link shows plenty of complaints from prior years. Edited October 25, 2013 by Tim Fischer
Tim Fischer Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Is this another Dexter? It's unclear if he does it maliciously or just has incredibly bad time and money management skills.
George Simmons Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Seems to me there's a need for a "Buyer Beware" section here and on other holiday websites. A lot of us know the names that should be included on that list, but most new people don't.
Tim Fischer Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) Deja Vu. All over again. Found all of these in about 3 minutes with Google. Do your homework, folks! http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/topic/12133-custom-sequencing-issues/?hl=lightertainmenthttp://forums.planetchristmas.com/index.php?/topic/48086-irritated-with-lightertainment/ http://forums.planetchristmas.com/index.php?/topic/44087-anyone-seen-philip-pyle-lightertainment/ Edited October 25, 2013 by Tim Fischer
Shubb Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I think the OP didn't have a reason to question him since he has used Philip in the past. But it just goes to show that even a repeat customer can get burned. It's sad to keep seeing the same people profit from deceit in this hobby. Good Luck.
DougP Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 This is the very reasion that I cut off taking orders for the past 2 years around the first of Oct as I do my best to not take any orders that I can't fill. Only have had to give one refund because life got in the way and I could not fill the order. First one in 3 years.
Don Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Okay. Not trying to cut off the discussion here. However, I think the thread has been descriptive with regards to every ones opinions/dealings with this company/person. As mentioned before, you should do your homework when dealing with companies.
