Bcspy
There is many choices for FM transmitter. Many seem to like the EDM transmitter. I would like to order but don't want to pick the wrong model. I check the website and many choices. http://www.edmdesign.com/orders.html Can someone direct me in the right direction. I live in a cul a sac and was running the FM Whole Transmitter for 3 years and had very bad results and need to upgrade. I like the LCD with enclosure and hope without solder anything. Don't know what is RDS Enabled. Aloha
k6ccc
I think the last part is that you don't know what RDS is. RDS is Radio Data System. Many newer car stereos have RDS receive capability. It is normally used by FM stations to transmit the name of the song, the artist, or the radio station ID or frequency (or frequently some combination of those). RDS allows you to transmit whatever information you want so that people watching your show can see it on their receivers (if so equipped). One of the gotchas is that the people are generally watching your lights rather than their stereo Edited October 12, 2013 by k6ccc
ShaggySS
I just picked up EDM-LCD-CS-EP and it works great. Has the metal enclosure to protect it and a simple antenna. I found that most available channels will go 4-5 houses away but I found one that will go almost a half mile. I would suggest using this site to pick a station. http://www.radio-locator.com/ It will give you a starting point
George Simmons
... I would suggest using this site to pick a station. http://www.radio-locator.com/ It will give you a starting point And I would suggest extreme caution before accepting the info on that site as accurate. Many, including me, have found it to be far from complete or even up to date. For example, there's a commercial station in my area that signed on over two years ago that isn't yet included. Use that site, as Shaggy suggested, ONLY as a starting point. Nothing compares to the accuracy of sitting in your car in front of your house, both during the day and especially during the evening hours to find a frequency that's available in your area. Ideally, chose one with an unused frequency immediately on either side of the one you want to use.
