iflights Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I'd like to have 2 CTB16PC controllers in my display that react exactly to the same set of sequencing commands without having to define 2 controllers in the network config, or program them separately into a sequence. For example, A controller would be on the left, and the other on the right of the yard. Can I assign both controllers as Unit #1, for example, and have all sequence commands for Unit #1 react simultaneously on both controllers? Thanks in advance.Steve
Santas Helper Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) Yes, you can assign both controllers the same unit ID and both react the same. Edited September 16, 2013 by Santas Helper
Don Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 As Tom mentioned, yes, you can do this. If you do expand to a larger display in the future, I would, however, recommend using different UnitID's. This will make troubleshooting issues easier when/if you expand the display. 1
iflights Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Thank you both for your rapid responses.
Steven Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) Also, be aware that the hardware utility may get confused when scanning for 2 units with the same ID. This is because both will reply back at the same time. (This is not an issue when playing a show without inputs.) Edited September 25, 2013 by Steven

(This is not an issue when playing a show without inputs.)Good point Steven.I can't even remember the last time I used the HD (Hardware Utility). Each time I add lights which requires more controllers, I just plug and play. Of course setting the controller to the new ID. All my controllers (AC & DC) have the "dial" ID method so the HD isn't even a factor.Maybe other methods/controllers require it but so far mine don't. Just plug and play....
