Hello all,

Has anyone attended the jump start class from LOR? I think I will be going on the 21st of Sep. What did you think of it?? Is it worth it??? Do they give you any printed material? Learn any thing new? Did they take any time to help u with any issues you had??? I have been doing sequences for a little over 2 years now. I am not a pro but would love to learn more, some short cuts and maybe some stuff about RGB. What r your thoughts???

Thanks,

Well, there has been only one so far.

I did go this past weekend to help out those who might have needed help during the class. For someone who is just getting started it's a great class with a wide variety of topics discovered. Even someone who has been in the hobby/business for a while could learn something in the class.

They do cover RGB, but remember they are also going over everything else LOR has to offer. Thus you aren't going to find an hour dedicated to any one particular product. Devoting an entire hour to RGB isn't something I think you would see in future classes.

Hi Bill,

I went to the jump start class in Philly last year and really enjoyed it and learned a lot. I had not done my own sequencing before the class but have been ever since. Like Don mentioned the class goes over a lot of topics and it does start very basic. It is taught by Chuck Smith who is a great guy. He is an electrical engineer but is very good at speaking in public and translating the LOR engineer lingo to normal people. AKA dumbing it down! LOL :D  The class does go over tips and tricks in both the SE and SS. He takes a poll as to who has experience and if it seems like there are no or very few very newbies he tries to quickly go over the basics. It does help though to know some background and basic info to help better understand what LOR can do and what you can make it do. I also had the privilege of speaking with Chuck during the recent Christmas Expo. I attended several of his classes there. I don't remember any printed material being handed out but he does pass around a flash drive with the newest version of software and the PDF presentation of the class so you can look it over anytime you want. I would highly recommend taking the class and if you do pack a cold lunch because during lunch light show videos are played and he usually hangs around and answers questions.

Later,

Al
