ItsMeBobO Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 This is a BETA announcement for a new effect generator. It will be part of the Vegomatic & Marquee tool set. This one is called SpEx (Spectrum Extract) This tool will analyze the audio file you select and break it down into 2048 frequency bands. Then it will scale the sound to the dimensions of your matrix. A clipboard can be pasted which will give the EQ bars. You need to create a matrix profile in Vegomatic to generate this effect. I am moving forward with a limited Beta release. This install is slightly more complicated since you need to also use an audio dll for sound support. bass.dll If you are well versed in using clipboards in SE and are a Vegomatic user please PM me to get the link for the EXE. https://vimeo.com/73629185
dougd Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Cant wait to give this a try. Will try it out this week for sure.
ItsMeBobO Posted September 6, 2013 Author Posted September 6, 2013 Hey Beta testers Last night I posted a new version of SpEx. This will allow you to create horizontal bars or vertical bars. Another important change was to break out the decay of the main bar from the decay of the peak volume. So now you can specify both to reduce the jumpiness of the bars.
ItsMeBobO Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 Last beta has been posted. After I finish the how to video I will post the release announcement in another thread.Fixed a bug in the color of the pixel at highest volume. Completed all the possible arrangements of singles, splits and quads so there are now 36 orientation select options.
Hiram Cornett Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Here is the error message I got even with the version you sent : (spex89.exe is not a valid Win32 application)
ItsMeBobO Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 XP is pretty old now Hiram. I tried to compile SpEx for you using XP options but unfortunately I dont have a test machine for that OS. I will look into it a little further for you. Lately my consideration has been to start releasing mainly 64bit versions as that is the way things are going.
