Orville Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) Saw this in person at the local Spirit Halloween Store today for $24.99¢: http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/gm-led-color-changing-spotlite/ The website where you can see a photo of the color changing spotlight doesn't say anything about it being indoor/outdoor or DMX, but I read on the box in store that it can be used outdoors, is weatherproof, and can be controlled via DMX or as a stand-alone, I'm thinking if controlled via DMX you would be able to control the full color spectrum with it. Although I don't know enough about DMX to use this with an LOR CTB16PC controller {or whether that's even possible}. Just thought I'd pass this on to those using DMX or to those that may know how to interface it via another method {again, if possible}. Can't say for $24.99¢ each, if this is a good deal, a great deal or any kind of deal, just passing on the info. They had about 10 in the store I was in. Edited September 1, 2013 by Orville
Orville Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) The above RGB Spotlight is LED, it is NOT incandescent. Just realized I forgot to add that to the info posted and in the subject line. Sorry about that. BTW: They also have some LED strobe spotlights in Blue, Red, White, Black{Light} or Green. Unfortunately they say they are indoor use only on the box in store. Not that that ever stopped any of us from using indoor items outdoors before, right? LOL Anyway they can be seen here and each one of these are also $24.99¢ each.: Blue LED Strobe Spot: http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/Gm-Blue-Led-Strobe-Spot-Light/ Red LED Strobe Spot: http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/gm-red-led-strobe-spot-light/ White LED Strobe Spot: http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/gm-red-led-strobe-spot-light/ Black LED Strobe Spot: http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/Gm-Led-Black-Strobing-Spotlite/ Green LED Strobe Spot: http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/gm-green-led-strobe-spot-light/ They only had about 4-5 of each color in store. They looked like the same housing as the RGB LED Spot posted in the previous message, but the box stated "Indoor Use Only" and they are electric {120V AC Voltage}. They did look fairly decent, but did not see any of these in action in store. Edited September 2, 2013 by Orville
rainyoregonchristmas Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Humm... indoor use only, but they have a lawn stake? I suppose some could still have some good ole shag rug in the living room still, but I'd guess if it has a lawn stake, its for outdoor use.

I suppose some could still have some good ole shag rug in the living room still, but I'd guess if it has a lawn stake, its for outdoor use.I know I thought that too. Indoor use only, but has a lawn stake? If it would have had a base with screw holes to mount to a wall or sit on a table, indoor use, possibly. But labeled indoor use only and has a lawn stake I did find that odd myself.
Orville Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Wouldn't matter where you put it, it only has a 15 minute life span. Just like everything else they sell. Trust me, I worked for that brain trust for 4 seasons, everything they sell is crap. That is a fact. DrewInteresting, I have to disagree with your "facts" about things only having a 15 minute life span. I've bought many items from Spirit Halloween and they still work today, some being 8-10 years old, others 1-3 years use over the entire month of October and running constantly all night long before I got into LOR Controllers and able to have better control of my props and lights. And as with any store, they are going to have bad and good stuff. So it all depends on what it is, just research and make sure the item will fit your needs before buying, and try and know it's limitations whenever possible. Read the reviews, I use those to make definitive determinations if I may consider anything I'm going to add to my display. But I have to say the lights and animatronics I've bought from them have never really let me down. But again, I read the customer reviews closely before I commit to spending money on anything animatronic or lighting. Edited September 3, 2013 by Orville
m1ke05 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I just picked up three black light spot lights ( same kind only 1 color) and they are not LOR compatible. First off, when you switch them into continuous ON mode, they take approx 1 second to come on, meaning timing will be a problem. They also do NOT respond well twinkle and shimmer, and last but not least they do not fade up or down... AT ALL. I'm disappointed to say the lease because they "FEEL" like a good quality, so back to the store they go.
