BrianBruderer Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 SuperStar has two new important features: VisEffects - With a visEffect you can apply a morph to your visualization instead of the sequencing grid. This allows you to do a smooth sweep across all the lights in your display. To use a visEffect, import a visualization of your display, launch the morph dialog box and click on the "VisEffect" checkbox at the bottom of the dialog box, Add the morph, Play. Import Visualization Pair - You can now import two different visualizations. One is your "Row" visualization with your fixtures and props laid out in rows according to how you want them to appear in the sequencing grid. The other is your "Real" visualization that is laid out how your display actually appears. SuperStar will let you sequence using the "Row" visualization and will automatically play it to the screen using the "Real" visualization. To use this new feature, create your two visualizations and then click on the File menu and select "Import Visualization Pair." The above features are available in Version 3.10.8 which has been released as an open beta. Announcement here. Also, you can go to the Samples folder and open the file "CandyCanes_sample.sup" and see an example of using a visualization pair and using standard morphs and visEffect morphs on the candy canes. Take a careful look at the 4 angled visEffects that start at 31 seconds into the sequence. This is an effect that was impossible to do before!
dougd Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Holy Smokes Brian, If this looks half as good on the lights as it does on the visualizer this is the best thing since sliced bread. When is LOR releasing the 140 CCR license version, i am up to 7,000 pixels, I would love to export the sequence i just did.
Ron Boyd Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Holy smoking pixels Batman. Really? You're doing 7K pixels this year? I only have 1500. What have you gone and done Doug, built a 40 ft. pixel tree? Man I can't wait to see your display now. Are you starting tomorrow See you in 2 weeks.
BrianBruderer Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 Can't promise when the new license levels will happen. But the plan is to have the 40 CCR and 80 CCR license level for this year. Next year there should be a 160 CCR license level.
bbayjohn Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Is it a bird?Is it a plane? No its Super Brian. That candy cane sample looks great. Any chance on some Tutorials showing all these new features?
Ron Boyd Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Brian, I know you don't have control when these new license levels get implemented, But for a bunch of folks, we're getting down to it. These new levels will make it much easier to complete sequencing. Is there anyway you can put a bug in the powers that be and let them know we need this implemented as soon as possible? Dan if you're listening.....? Thanks Brian for your work on this.
bob_moody Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Downloaded and installed 3.10.8Checked my install of SSEDIT and its 3.10.62 Dont see either feature... did SSEDIT not update or is it a sepearte DL? Bob
BrianBruderer Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 That is my fault. When I gave the special SSEdit.exe to people to test with I should not have given it a version number that was higher than the next release number. When the Lightorama installer sees that the SSEdit.exe you have has a higher version number than what it has to install then it leaves the executable there and does not install what it has. So you have two options: 1) Manaully delete SSEdit.exe and then do an install of 3.10.8 again 2) Do an Uninstall of 3.10.8 and then do an install of 3.10.8
bob_moody Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Option 1 worked perfect. Thank you Brian. Only thing I see so far .. is artifacts left on the screen after you hit play This is an EXCELLENT feature that will save me a lot of time. The ability to morph from any direction and angle should offer up some very interesting sequences.Standard morph direction on my visualizations was side to side. The up and down I had to perform manually ... this feature just fixed that .. Thank you Brian .. as always .. FANTASTIC job ...
BrianBruderer Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 I have seen the problem where pieces of things are left on the screen. I have fixed that on my computer and it will be fixed in future releases.
bob_moody Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I have seen the problem where pieces of things are left on the screen. I have fixed that on my computer and it will be fixed in future releases.I will add that I have see it before this release and the VisEffects. If I completed a SS sequence, saved it, then keeping the current sequence active and importing a different visualization, artifacts are left from sequence pieces that do not exist in the current visualization. Thanks again for the update and the help... Bob
