tjflory Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Greetings. How do you folks store spiral trees off-season? Do you build from scratch each year? Do you construct it so it collapses somehow? Thanks in advance! tj
Orville Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 When I had commercial {retail store bought} pre-made ones, they just collapsed. If I were to construct one, I'd definitely make it collapsible for easy storage.
rainyoregonchristmas Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 How tall of a tree are you thinking? Keys to the puzzle... I might have some ideas for you.
LightsinMaine Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Mine is 11' tall. Made the top able to be separate from the pole. Hooked all my strings to my 6' wide wood base with turnbuckles to tighten strings. Zip tied all my lights to the strings in a spiral manner. So I can take my top off the post and store all my lights and top app in large bin.
zman Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Mine is the same height. I rebuild it every year. If you are zip tying your light strings to your frame wires, I can't see an easy way to collapse and store without creating a mess.
David Rise Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I have 2 7ft and a 10ft made from 1/2" pvc. Only the rings are glued, so I just pulled out the uprights and everything stores flat
LightsinMaine Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 It's just called patience Zman.....have stored it and put it up 4 yrs in a row and only takes 20 minutes....
