Enclosure + DC Board + Power Supply

Good morning everyone ...

4th year doing LOR but a true NEWBIE to DC boards and RGBs ( other than 2 CCRs last year ).

Probably a silly question but I have to build 2 control boxes which will have a power supply, the LOR DC board in a CG1500 enclosure.

What type of spacers do you use to keep the components of the back wall of the box.

Does it really matter what goes where in the box and any tips / tricks on installing them would be greatly appreciated.

Thank-you for your time !

Dave

Hey Dave,

I have mounted my P.S. and controller in the same fashion as Keven (seen here) . Mount the P.S. and controller to some kind of backer then mount the backer to the enclosure. I ended up using a piece of plexiglass from lowes, cut to fit.

Just to add to this, if using clear plexiglass, mark your mounting holes for the CG-1500 and then for the controller and PS. Drill them out first if you're planning on painting the plexiglass.

Just speaking from a mistake I made, painting first.

Here's what mine looks like: http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b595/boydchristmaslights/Pixburst%20Photos/DSCN0566_zpscaa2ba71.jpg

Nice job on your enclosure and spinner.  I was wondering how you mounted your power supply to the plexi?  Looks like some sort of side bracket, but I couldn't tell from the angle.

It's just an "L" bracket that you can buy just about anywhere. here's one from HD: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-1-2-in-Zinc-Plated-Corner-Braces-4-Pack-15304/202033892#.UhEGEJLVDWg

I just mount them to the power supply with the "L" underneath the Plexi, mark the holes, drill the plexi, paint and then mount the PS.

The pic is not very good but you can get some idea.

Thanks for the info.  Do you know what size screw you used into the side power supply?  The power supplies I have look similar, but nothing I had laying around to try and thread in would work.
