I saw these at a garage sale today and could not pass them up. Still not sure what I am going to do with them but they were to good of a deal.

The solider is 7.5 ft tall and the stocking is 7ft heavy steal frame and all of the lights work.

I figure I will change them to C9 retro fits.

These still have the colored lights in them...

I have a new location this year to set up my display... A whole 1/2 acre front yard to play in.  It just happens to have a utility pole on both sides of the front yard.

Anyone have a good idea how to hang these?

With humor: Stretch a line between the two utility poles and go from there.

funny you say that.  the two Utility poles are about 150ft a part.  I was thinking of running some AirCraft cable between the two in a few years and have a flying Santa Sled and Raindeer make the move across them.

But that is in the distant planning.

I have a pole in my yard as well,,I often wondered if I can put display elements around it or is there a rule that say anything not do to he utilities must be this far away. or since it's in my yard is it considered mine?

I can tell you that the power or cable company has the rights to remove them if you place them on the poles. The poles in most cases are placed on the right of way lines of the State or County and times inside the City. Stay clear of those poles and put your own up. Its to easy for them to say you caused a case of trouble and try to sue you for damages.
