Excited...More Power

Well, the next step of preparing for Christmas is complete. I just had 16 more outlets added to the outside of the house. If anyone is interested. It is 4 groups of 4 outlets, each with their own 20 amp circuit. Plenty for all LED's. Cost me $375 with parts and labor.

Was that doing it yourself at that cost or a licensed electrician?   Seems really cheap if you hired a licensed electrician to do it.    Just know it's going to cost me close to $1500+ to add outlets around my home and new wiring to them.     I could do it myself a whole lot cheaper, but it has to be up to current code, inspected, and have permits to add new electrical outlets outside my home.

I had an electian install 5 20A circuits, each with an outdoor duplex outlet for $775 last year.  That included parts/labor and permit in California.

That was a licensed, permitted electrician doing it. I already had the spare 4 20 amp circuits in the panel. The panel was on the same side of the house as I had the outlets installed. Unfinished basement, it was a short, easy job for him. About 2 hour job.

That's what puzzles me with the $1500 price tag for what I want to do, I have 6 spare openings for 6 new breakers in my panel, and I've already added 2 breakers, just need to add in the other 4, which would give me an additional 120 amps of power to the outside outlets around the house.

Since I own a manufactured home, I figured it would be a very easy and simple task for the electrician to wire in the outlets and run the wiring to those 6 CB's.  Which will be GFCI types.

And I already have the outlets and some of the materials needed, the electrician just needs to supply his labor and the wire to install from the CB's and to the outlets where I need/want them.    So I thought I could get by with maybe around $300-$400, but been quoted $1500+ for the work via different electrical businesses.     Maybe it's just Florida? or maybe it's because it's manufactured home{which I thought would be easier and cheaper than a regular house}, I just don't know.  Just seems to be a bit pricey too me.

To be clear I did already have the 4 20 amp circuits purchased and installed in the panel, so that is not included in the total. Before getting a quote for everything, I priced out everything I needed at Home Depot and it was $265. So, it cost me around $70 an hour for the electrician to run and hook things up and he purchased all the supplies. I assume from a cheaper place than Home Depot, so maybe he made more than $70 an hour.
