Dad02
The CMB16D-QC controller allows the hardware editor to reset the unit ID to whatever I want. The DC board also has unit ID dial switches on it.Does anyone know which one trumps the other? Does the memory on the DC board revert back to the unit ID switches when powered down? The seqeunce editor accepts the new unit ID programmed from the HU not the switches.
Max-Paul
I think your getting your apples and oranges mixed up a bit. Ok, when you first power up the unit id is per the settings of the switches. Ya you can set the id via the utility to something different. Now as long as power remains on the controller the software setting of the id via the hardware utility will remain. But if you interrupt the power the unit id reverts to what the setting is via the switches.Nothing good will come of setting the ID via any other means other than the hardware switches on the board. Dad02
Thanks, had a feeling that's the way it worked but wasn't 100%. It was more of a discovery by accident, when you do things (set unit IDs) for years the same way you forget the old ways. Should have read the manual first. Shubb
Reminds me of the rookie mistake I made. I plugged in the wrong cable to change the unit ID of a new controller.Instead of setting the ID on a new controller, I changed 27 existing controllers.Ya, that was a blast to go back and fix.
