2811 Pixels setup

I just hooked up a E6804 to some 2811 pixels. I just used the data output on the E6804 and injected power to the pixels. Will this hurt anything? Everything is working fine. I am going to put 420 channels on 1 output, so I figured if I injected power I wouldn't over amp the controller.

I dont see a problem with doing it that way, should work fine.

Thanks I thought it would, I just haven't seen or heard of anyone using this setup. And I've seen a youtube video where a guy linked all the grounds together with the controller ground. But it's working on my work table, so I guess it won't fail me.
