Tim Fischer
20 years ago my wife's mom passed away due to breast cancer. As such, along with the fact she turns 40 this year, she decided to honor her mom's memory, as well as raise funds to eliminate this terrible disease, by participating in the 60-mile Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk this August. One of the stipulations for doing the walk is that she must raise $2300 in support (over and above the entrance fee she paid for registration). This seems like a formidable task, and she almost gave up on registering due to it, but I encouraged her to sign up and give it a try. Currently she's raised $325 of that, which is a bit lower than she'd hoped to be at this point of the effort. Neither one of us likes to ask people for money. But not a penny of this goes to us - it goes to fund research for a cure, as well as prevention of the disease. Even the costs of the event are covered by a registration fee paid by each participant, and are not covered by your donations. It would be a *HUGE* encouragement to Cathy if a few of you would be willing to help raise that percentage up a few points. So far she's received a lot of encouragement, and a lot of"likes" on her Facebook posts about the subject, but few actual donations. Every little bit adds up quickly, so even a small donation would be much appreciated. Thanks so much for your consideration. We'd appreciate it if you'd click the following link which explains, in her own words, why she's doing the event this year, and also provides a way to make a donation if you're so inclined. You can also contact me if you'd prefer to mail a check.http://www.the3day.org/goto/cathyfischerGod Bless,-Tim & Cathy
Tim Fischer
Well, we're just about to the halfway point of this fund raising campaign, and Cathy is just about halfway to her goal. This is great - and we really appreciate all the support she's been given so far as she attempts the daunting task of raising $2300 toward breast cancer research. But the flip-side is that there's still a big gap between now and the event as far as money that needs to be raised. If you haven't donated yet, would you consider doing so? Even small donations are appreciated and very much needed. Cathy would like to do this walk in honor of her Mom, but unless she raises at least the full $2300, she won't be allowed to do so. Again, this money goes straight to the foundation - we don't take a penny of it, and indeed will be giving a significant donation ourselves. Donations can be done electronically at the following link, or you can contact me on how to donate via check.http://www.the3day.org/site/TR?px=3005318&fr_id=1822&pg=personal Also if you know someone with a heart for breast cancer research and wouldn't mind passing this link on to them, that would be great as well. Thanks much for your consideration!-Tim
Tim Fischer
Cathy is $400 away from her fundraising requirement to walk in the Twin Cities 3-Day in honor of her mom. If you haven't yet, would you consider a small donation to help fill the final gap? Every $10, $5, $1 counts up. Thanks in advance.http://the3day.org/goto/cathyfischer
